Apology and Notice Regarding Possible Unauthorized Access to the Channel Manager (Hotel Reservation Management System)

We inform you of the possibility of unauthorized access to the hotel’s Channel Manager (hotel reservation management system; hereinafter referred to as “the System”) by a third party at the Hiyori Hotel Maihama, which is operated by our company. The vendor providing this system has reported to us that they suspect that a third party has illegally logged into the System and gained unauthorized access to the reservation information of some customers who made reservations through the reservation site.

We deeply apologize for any inconvenience and concern this may cause to our customers.

【Summary】

The vendor’s investigation has confirmed that unauthorized access was made to personal data entrusted to the vendor in this system, and that some of the data was output in CSV format. It is assumed that this was an attempt by the unauthorized accessor to steal information.

【Investigation Details】

The following are the details of the unauthorized access detected by the vendor.

(Investigation period: May 1 to August 1, 2024)

Date: July 23, 2024

Target: Certain customers who made reservations from the online reservation site before July 23, 2024 with check-in dates between July 23, 2024 and March 1, 2025.

Items of unauthorized customer information accessed:

Name of the person making the reservation, name of the guest, telephone number, nationality, and e-mail address issued by the reservation site for each reservation.

(This is not the guest’s e-mail address, which normally allows us to send e-mails to the guest, but currently it is not possible to send e-mails to the guest through this address from an external domain).

Information related to accommodation, such as date of stay, room type, etc.

Please note that the address after the nationality and credit card number are not included.

We will not contact you individually or send you a confirmation e-mail regarding this matter.

If you receive any suspicious communication from us or our reservation site, please be cautious and take appropriate measures. Please note that we will not ask you for your credit card number or other information.
